Hey there, what’s up?

I’m Sam McDowell, a Second Life Resident for over 10 years now. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my love for this amazing virtual world.

What I love most about Second Life is the limitless creative opportunities it offers. Whether it’s creating art, designing my own houses, or crafting unique clothing, Second Life allows me to explore my creative side in every direction. I’m a photographer and I also love to explore sims.

Over the years, I’ve also developed a deep passion for roleplaying in Second Life. It’s incredible to immerse myself in a different world and experience a second life through my avatar. It’s a whole new level of escapism that I find incredibly fulfilling.

Through my experiences in Second Life, I’ve gained so much knowledge and insight into the virtual world. I would love to share my experiences and thoughts with all of you, so stay tuned for more stories from my „second life“ journey.

My Backstory

In my early years of roleplaying, I began my journey in Mischief Managed, a magical Hogwarts roleplay community within Second Life. As someone who values kindness, loyalty, and hard work, it’s no surprise that I would choose to sort myself into Hufflepuff, both in real life and in the virtual world of Second Life. The Hufflepuff house embodies the very qualities that I strive to embody every day, and it’s a joy to immerse myself in that world and explore its endless possibilities through roleplaying.

As I mentioned earlier, my love for roleplaying began in the magical world of Hogwarts. But there’s another story that has shaped who I am today, and I’d like to share it with you now. My name is Sam Damien McDowell, and I’m currently 17 years old. I was born alongside my twin sister, Evangeline Anastasia Katherine McDowell Oxford, and we grew up in a small town near Oxford until the day our Hogwarts acceptance letters arrived. Our father, Arthur McDowell, was one of the most prominent wizards of his time and served as the Head of the Ministry of Magic. Our mother, Anastasia Katherine McDowell, was equally talented and shared her love of magic with us from a young age. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when our parents were killed in a car accident during our first year at Hogwarts. It was a devastating loss that changed our lives forever, but we were determined to persevere and make the most of the magical world that our parents had introduced us to.

Losing our parents was undoubtedly the hardest thing Evangeline and I have ever faced. In the aftermath of their deaths, our paths diverged, and we went our separate ways outside of school. I was fortunate enough to be adopted by Lindsey and Amari Haze, family friends from Colorado. It was a significant adjustment for me, moving from the wizarding world to the Muggle world, but Lindsey and Amari have been incredibly supportive and have taught me so much. Although I only see them during school holidays, they have become like a second family to me. Evangeline was also adopted, but in Germany, and we have remained close despite the distance between us. As for myself, I have grown to love the environment in Colorado and have decided to leave the wizarding world after graduation to live a normal life there. I will always cherish the memories of my time at Hogwarts and the friendships I made there, but I’m ready for a new chapter in my life. I know that I have a bright future ahead of me, and I’m excited to see where it takes me.

My Blog starts with my final year at Hogwarts, beginning with the spring break of 2023. I am excited to share my last experiences at Hogwarts and to give you a glimpse into my „normal“ life in Colorado.
